About Estilo Weddings
Maria Ryan was surrounded by white taffeta and lace while planning her own wedding. Bold colors and stylish items were hard to find. - we want a very simple 3 or 4 tier square cake with white buttercream icing. Also, we want pearl like beading on the sides. I want real flowers on the cake(very sparsely) but he wants flowers made of icing. We will see who gets what they want!!!!!! Stay tuned......

  I'm having a double ceremony, my mother and I... so our top tiers will be the same height with 2 different cake toppers.

- i've been shopping around for a while now, trying different renowned bakeries around our wedding site, but i could not find a cake as tasty as the one i make...
  
  i was considering baking my own, probably cupcakes, seen as my oven is not big enough for the pans needed to make a tiered cake.
  it is gonna be challenging though..what with about 130 guests coming... that's gonna make a hell of a lot of cupcakes!
  
  oh and i have a killer buttercream frosting recipe that can take a multitude of flavoring. i might even infuse some cupcake cake with syrups (like raspberry or coffee) for added yummy-ness ;)

- We are having a five tier white torte with fresh raspberry filling and buttercream frosting made to look like embroidery. We are also having a full Viennese dessert table and a cheesecake groom's cake in the shape of a boxing glove for a lucky man.

- Our wedding cake is 3 tier hexagon shape white fondent with navy blue paisley on the top and bottom layer and our monogram on the middle layer
  
  As for the grooms care it will be a foot and ankle made out of fondant and red velvet cake with black fondent in the shape of a ball with a chain made out of black fondent attaching it to the foot :) my fiance come up with that all by himself (ball and chain) hehe!!

- We're having three different flavors of filled cupcakes. Carrot with cream cheese filling, marble with Bavarian cream filling, and yellow with chocolate mousse filling. All with butter cream frosting, half of them yellow and half of them white.
  
  The groom’s cake is going to be a green sheet cake with a soccer ball in the middle surrounded by mini figurines of players from his favorite football (soccer) club, Manchester United. The flavor is going to chocolate with a coffee mousse filling. It’s also a complete surprise!

- At our wedding we are having a red, white and blue colored cake which goes with our Fourth of July wedding. The top will feature 3 sparklers with red, white and blue stars. The cake will have 3 round layers with both stars and stripes in red, white and blue.

- We are having a three tiered wedding cake w/ ivory fondant. With jade green ribbon at the bottom of every tier. There will be serpentine style orchids draped down the cake. The bottom tier will be a polynesian coconut & custard filling with fresh whipped cream frosting, The middle tier will be a strawberry delight with fresh strawberries and the top will be chocolate cake w/ chocolate filling(the groom loves chocolate!) I am really looking forward to this part of my day, eating CAKE!!! =D YUMMY!!

- He's a chocoholic so we are having at least one layer of chocolate on chocolate. But my favorite flavor is lemon. Real lemon not fake flavoring! I still have to find a good lemon baker.

- Everytime I think of what our cake will be, I can't wait for the big day...
  
  Amaretto cake with Amaretto sprinkled post-bake with Apricot filling. And the whole cake will look like a pile of fall leaves with a recycled tree trunk cake stand.
  
  Awesome? Yes. Delicious? Yes.

- I hate icing! Or at least I thought I did....
  
  I heard everyone raving about a local bakeries icing. So I thought I would give it a try. I was asked if I wanted a spoonful to taste.
  
  You should of seen my face in disgust! I thought a tongue taste should be fine. But I hate to admit it. My eyes lit up as I put that spoonful the rest of the way in my mouth. It was light, very light, but not whip cream icing.
  It made my mouth water! I am not joking.
  
  I immediately thought.. NO WAY this STILL will taste good if it were BLACK or Red icing.
  
  ~~ IT WAS~~!
  ,
  Needless to say I walked out of the bakery with large cups cakes piled high with icing. Something I NEVER do. And when I got home I had to get a band-aid for my finger!
  
  I already starting eating them on the drive home. And I cut my finger on the plastic, trying to open the cupcakes with one hand and driving with the other..
  
  So what kind of cake am I having..
  
  ~~The one that was so irresistible. ….
  Now I don’t have to scrape off the icing, to get to the cake. :o)

- We are having a three tiered cake that has a bottom layer of chocolate with raspberry filling, a middle layer of white cake with raspberry filling and a top layer of black and white cake with raspberry filling. In addition to this our baker makes scrumptious cheesecakes and we'll be doing a split of regular cake and cheesecake. How awesome would it be to have cupcakes at every table too? I have a huge sweet tooth and would find it so fun to have the cupcakes with the artistry of the laser cut wrappers. Awesome!!

- We are having 3 different kinds...one for each layer. Chocolate with white chocolate filling; white cake with lemon filling; and white cake with chocolate filling. We are also having light pink frosting with chocolate brown ribbon at the base of each layer...it's going to be AWESOME!! I would use the laser cut wrappers for my mother-in-law's homemade cupcakes. She would love it.

- 3 tier cascading cake. Cakes will be "white" cake (which has a different and delightfully light almond flavor)with smooth white butter cream frosting.
  
  The cakes will have red ribbon on the bottom edge, with chocolate covered strawberries lining the tops, and a fresh strawberries and cream filling for the cakes. (He loves strawberry shortcake, and the wedding colors are red and white.) Yay!

- We are going to have a three-tiered wedding cake made by my best friend's/maid of honor's mom! It is going to have cream cheese frosting and will be decorated in a Celtic/Irish theme! It will have the symbol of the trinity on it, with love knots wrapping around it! It will perhaps have a gaelic love saying, too :) It will have a good amount of green, obviously!

- Our wedding cake will be a reflection of us - modern and contemporary. We're going traditional on the shape but flavor wise it's a combination of chocolate and marble with white simply satin frosting, hot pink edible roses icing and apple green thin stripes.

- We are having a white four layer round red velvet cake. The top tier will have a chocolate fondant ribbon tied around it with a rhinestone placed in the center of the bow. The ends of the fondant ribbon will trail down the cake giving it a glamorous yet simple feel. My wedding is planned around this cake!

- We want a semi traditional cake with colors that match our wedding--so it will incorporate some blush pink and chocolate brown colors. More than likely the traditional white cake in two layers and one of the layers with chocolate with only a layer of icing in the middle of the cakes. I'm from the midwest, so I'm not fond of the flavored middle icing. We want the more traditional Dutch wedding cake with the really granular buttercream icing. YUM!!!!!

- We'll be doing multiple cakes in multiple different flavors including the basic chocolate and vanilla and also a granny apple cake, an almond coconut and a chocolate raspberry truffle. We nixed the giant cake to save money and because I think it looks pretty. And they're all vegan! We'll also have vegan and regular cupcakes and some other desserts on our "dessert table". Mmmmm.

- I hate cake to be honest, but our mothers insisted we have a cake. Secretly I wanted ice cream cake but since we are having a Christmas wedding in Colorado, that didn't make too much sense!

- Cupcakes on 4 tiers with a smaller cake on the top tier (5th).
  
  We plant to decorate them all with blue & brown chocolate curls. For the blue ones we plan to melt down white chocolate and add some blue food coloring,, then let it harden so we can make the chocolate curls for the tops of the cake and cupcakes.

- My fiance is Egyptian, so we're doing a lot of nods to his culture throughout the day. One of them is the cake!
  
  It's going to be a three-tiered fondant covered cake, in the shape of a pyramid! Really excited about it, I can't wait to do a mini trial run!

- We're having a 5 tiered cup cake tree. Have done a survey to see what filling flavors my guests loved the most, and have decided with the 5 most popular, such as strawberry, rasberry, lemon, etc..so we could please all tastebuds....just thinking of the cupcakes filled with my favorite rasberry filling is already making my mouth water....yummm yuuuuummmyyyy

- We are excited to go with a dessert bar from Auntie Em's catering; with slices of lemon zing cake, fudge brownies, and excellent white chocolate macademia nut cookies.
  
  We are also debating between a tiered array of carrot, chocolate, and red velvet cupcakes v. slices of those cakes. HUM? What to do? :o)
  
  If our caterer were to use a fancier accent like, Estilo Weddings "laser-cut cupcake wrappers", I believe the debate on which way to go ... cupcake v. cake slices, would be over!

- Bridal cake is a Lemon Marmalade iced in buttercream,then layered in blue fondant and covered in sugar crystals to give a wintery feel. Pinecones will be added to decorate.
  The Grooms cake is a Mexican Chocolate with chocolate morsels mixed in. Of course we will have choclate covered strawberries on top!

- I'm doing a candy buffet in only blue and white candies in clear glass jars tied with ribbon, I am also making my own blue fondant snowflake pound cake just for photos. Dessert is served with the meal and the cake never goes. But the candies they can take home.

- I love that most people are doing cupcakes or fun stuff, and rejecting the insanity of traditional wedding cakes - overpriced and often uneaten! I'm going for three cakes (no layers!): banana cake for me, tiramasu for the groom, and carrot cake for whoever doesn't like banana or tiramisu! Also, a cheese plate and fruit will be served, because I know when I drink wine, cake tastes pretty gross with it. And friends are offering to make special cupcakes too, so can't wait to see what they come up with!

- We are having....A DUMMY CAKE...for our wedding cake. I bake cakes myself and insist on doing my own wedding cake. However, we live in GA and are getting married in TN. We will only have about 30 or so guest and the dream cake I want will feed over 100. I am going to make my cake with styrofoam fake cake centers. We will eat the grooms cake, which I'll also make. Its my chocolate sin recipe with mini chocolate chips in the cake batter, fudge filling, rich milk chocolate buttercream frosting drizzled with semi-sweet chocolate ganache and chocolate covered strawberries,hmmm YUMMY!

- Seeing as our "reception" is at the buffet at the Wynn hotel in Las Vegas, our "cake" will be over a dozen different types of deserts, pastries, and ice cream. we will follow it with desert drinks and cigars at the Napoleon lounge at the Paris Hotel.

- We're saving for a house too so our budget is tight for next summer. We will be baking our own cupcakes using my Grandma's Fresh Banana Cake recipe. Pretty much every special occassion in my family serves this cake in some form, so it works out perfectly. Also going to try to find those little card holder sticks and use them for placecards.

- We're going to have a red velvet cake! It will be 4 round tiers with butter cream icing. It won't be smoothed out, though. It will look a little whipped. We will then put fresh flowers on the cake :o) The grooms cake will be made to look like a 2001 Camaro SS.

  Buttercream all on the outside with the swiss dot design and flower clusters in all shades of pink.
  
  And to satisfy my love for chocolate even more, there will be a chocolate fountain with all the fix-ins :)

- We're doing individual cakes in champagne, grand marnier (sp?), vanilla bean, and chocolate flavors. There will be an almond cake at the top of the stand that will have our monogram stuck in it.

- Honestly I can say I have no clue. My aunt is a caterer. She always makes that her gift for the people in our family. I am the only niece so this is a very special cake for her to make. I know her very amazing talents so I wanted to make it even more special and more like a gift and have her design it. NO ONE will know what the cake is going to look like until they walk into the receptions. I have grown up on her baking so I knew what flavor I wanted to I told her that and gave her pictures of my centerpieces, dress, flowers, and what our colors where. She is simply amazing and has been featured on the cover of magazines and caterered parties for the Dallas Cowboys and several important people in that area. This is one of the things I am looking most forward too on my wedding day. It is going to be fabulous!!

- I am trying to work it out so we can have a different flavor on each layer. so far I know we are going to have blueberry, chocolate, and maybe a few mystery to surprise everyone. I am having my wedding the weekend of race day (Indy 500) so the cake will probably be black and white themed and have some pink in green on it because those are my original colors!

- We searched and searched for the "perfect" cake to suit our style. That was more difficult that we planned. We didn't want fondant, too much hard tasteless sugar. A layer cake was appealing so everyone got at least on of their favorite flavors, but the style were too ornate, even when we took off most of the frills. I wanted a sqaure cake. It seemed new and chic.
  
  So, we decided on parisians. They are 3 1/2 in individual square cakes with three layers of cake. The top is white cake, the center poppy seed (the groom's fav) and the bottom chocolate (the brides fav). In between the layers is a thin thin layer of buttercream frosting with a thin layer of raspberry right on top of that. Then.. the entire (still 3 1/2 inch square parisian is draped in dark chocolate ganache.
  
  We had the option of some scroll work on top of each one. We chose a simple beautiful design in cream to compliment our black/white/sepia tone "theme" for our 1950's Hollywood wedding.
  
  Our date is September 14th, 2008. 9 days!!

- We will be having a Tastykake cupcake wedding cake at our wedding! Since I'm from California and he's from Philadelphia, and a lot of different areas played a role in our long-distance relationship, we are going to highlight each significant place in our relationship through a food station. Tastykakes are so specific to the area we live in now (Philadelphia) that we thought crafting a wedding-cake-shape out of their cupcakes would be perfect!

- My fiancé is a distant relative of the Wedgwood china family, and he has a piece of Wedgwood china that has been in his family for years. So we gave it to our cake decorator and she is recreating the color and pattern on our cake. - Four tiers in what is called a cascade style cake, each tier has it's own column with the smallest tier highest and the other tiers successively larger and lower. The tiers will be arranged in a crescent shape and each tier will be a different flavor.

  bites, chocolate covered strawberries, and cupcakes (hint hint)!
  
  i'm excited to serve such a variety to our guests.
  also, i think the spread display will be more aesthetically
