I've photographed over 300 ceremonies and in my experience, there have never been two weddings alike. Keep in mind that original organic moments are the signature of YOUR wedding day. I've noticed recently that a few of my former clients have tried to recreate spontaneous moments at their wedding from favorite images they've seen in my portfolio. This is not a good idea. I recognize "the pose" the minute it happens and it almost always looks staged and feels empty.
Even though the photo above was published over 2 years ago, it is still one of my most popular. Given: this couple is attractive, but the reason this image works is because they were completely comfortable in their own skin. It was obvious that they were in love and didn’t feel the need to prove it to the world. I captured so many more images like this one simply because they were in the moment and not planning on how they’re photos could be like wedding photos they saw in a magazine.
I believe that true beauty and depth comes across in photos when you allow your day to unfold in its own unique way. So just be yourself!
