We've been posting a lot about Green Weddings lately, and have hoped to give some practical, easy and fun advice about how to incorporate eco-friendly tips into your planning. We're going for what John Mayer calls the Light Green approach; which advocates for making "going green" a fun and easy experience. I'm sorry but nobody wants to sit around and listen to someone preach about how we're all going to die if we don't start using different light bulbs. This approach just isn't fun. But I am certainly cool with someone communicating this to me…say… in the form of a rap.
Bottom line: It's your wedding and it needs to be celebrated in absolute style. So if you've always dreamed of riding elephants down the aisle--then who am I to rain on your literal parade? Who cares if you have to ship those babies straight in from India? OK, I'm exaggerating just a little, but the point is: this is your one excuse to have a killer party.
Having said all of that, it's time to uncover the results of our latest poll--the Green Wedding Poll! It turns out that most of our users actually do want to have a green or "light green" wedding.
Survey Says:
According to the official mywedding.com Green Wedding Survey:
- 40% of our users say they'll go green if it's convenient.
- 48% are either going completely green or mostly green with a few luxuries sprinkled in.
- 12% say no way, no how.
I have to say I am a bit surprised and deeply proud that our users are the raging hippies hip, eco-conscious people that you are.
