mywedding.com's Top Ten Favorite Wedding Flicks

Wondering which movies will get you and your honey in the wedding spirit? Well, the all-knowing wedding gurus here at mywedding.com have put together a list of our favorite matrimonial movies to help you out:

10. Harold & Maude--For the tragically-inclined and couples who are around 60 years apart in age. This is an awesome movie that doesn't actually have one wedding scene in it, but implies marriage throughout. We're stretching to include this, we know, but we really like this movie.

9. The Wedding Planner--For JLo fans everywhere. I can't say that I personally voted for this movie, but it seems to be a popular one amongst the mywedding.com crowd so it must be cool. (heh, heh)

8. Muriel's Wedding--A classic ugly-duckling story with a dark comedic edge and accompanied by the fabulously talented Swedish pop group ABBA. Need I say more?

7. Bride & Prejudice--For the Bollywood fans out there. If you liked Bend it Like Beckham and you're a fan of the classic Jane Austen tale (Pride & Prejudice, people!), you'll love this movie! Warning: This is a chick flick at its finest. It's both a musical AND adapted from a classic romance novel.

6. Four Weddings and a Funeral--This movie has it all: love, romance, comedy, tragedy, and a happy ending. Hugh Grant is pretty cute too.

5. My Best Friend's Wedding--You always want what you can't have, right? Well Julia Roberts' character is just a little too late when she decides she loves her best friend on the day of his wedding. But is she? Guess you'll have to find out for yourself…

4. The Princess Bride--It'll give you inspiration for own wedding vows. Take this scene for instance, "Mawwage. Mawwage is what bwings us togethah today. Mawwage, that bwessed awwangement, that dweam wiffin a dweam...and wove, twue wove, wiww fowwow you fowevah... So tweasuwe youw wove..." Inspiring isn't it?

3. My Big Fat Greek Wedding--Consider this movie as part of your homework/market research before tying the old knot. Watch this movie to get a taste of what it's going to be like to have in-laws, and to have a family so completely different from your spouse's family-it's scary. And then learn to laugh, because it's all you can do. Seriously.

2. The Wedding Singer--The movie that actually got the most votes here at mywedding.com, however not everyone who gets the most votes always wins. Anyhoo, everyone does love this movie. It's funny, brings us back to the fashion-inspired times of the 1980's, and showcases the cute and talented Drew Barrymore. What's not to like? Maybe instead of winning, this movie's destiny will be better spent traveling the world informing us about the biggest crisis of our time--The Mullet.

1. Monsoon Wedding--OK, so I was only one of two people who voted for this movie, but since I'm writing this, I took the liberty of arranging the movies how I see fit. I love the colors in this film, the story line, and Mira Nair is one of my all-time favorite directors. Besides, it's time for indie films like this to get some proper respect.
